Plain-text file
Before you start: Your export is saved as a plain-text file. Keep it on your own device and delete it the moment your import into Simply Once is finished.

Open NordPass
Open NordPass and sign in.

Open the menu
Click the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left corner.

Open Settings
Choose Settings.

Find Import & Export
Go to the Import & Export section.

Export your items
Click Export Items and enter your master password.

Save the file
Pick a safe location and save the file.
Good to know. NordPass only lets you export from the desktop app — the browser extension doesn’t support it.
Keep the file safe
- This file lists every saved password in the clear — treat it like cash.
- Delete it the moment your import into Simply Once is done.
- Never email it or upload it to cloud storage.
- Don’t share the file with anyone.
- Use Shift + Delete on Windows, or empty your Trash on a Mac, so it can’t be recovered.
Frequently asked questions
Is the exported file encrypted?
No. The export is plain text — anyone who opens it can read every entry. Delete it as soon as your import into Simply Once is done.
Will exporting remove my passwords from NordPass?
No. Exporting makes a copy. Your saved passwords stay in NordPass.
What should I do with the file after I import it?
Delete it permanently. Use Shift + Delete on Windows or empty your Trash on a Mac so it can’t be recovered.
Which format does Simply Once accept?
CSV works for every guide here.
Once it’s in Simply Once, your vault is end-to-end encrypted. That exported file isn’t — delete it as soon as your import is done.
